Ressac

Creation 2020 - 2023

Ressac

Ressac is an intimate and social approach to the European seaside landscape through dance and visual arts. Like a painter who represents in successive planes the multiple composition of a landscape, Ressac questions in layers our relationship to ecology, time and disquiet. This creation invites you to immerse yourself in natural environments and in yourself.

Taking the time to look at our environment has become a political act. Observed carefully, we can detect stories and transmit them with a critical and sensitive dimension through artistic approaches. We are aware that the liberal economic system creates a break between human beings and their relationship to the environment. Political management of the climate crisis and the impacts of natural disasters seems to be outdated given the scale of the divide.

What can the states of unrest of dance reveal about these landscapes in crisis? What crisis aesthetics does dance make us perceive?

GYMNASEE

GYMNASE

Création en cours 2019-2025

GYMNASE is a choreographic, sound and visual creation project. Designed to be performed in multi-sports spaces - formerly called gymnasiums - the project will use the location as the main scenography, and will draw its form from its history and the physical stories that take place there. GYMNASE proposes to reconsider the body through the prism of dance as a political tool where cultures, identities and singularities are highlighted. The writing of this choreographic proposal will be physical, performative and resolutely contemporary.

An emerging queer artist on the Brussels scene, I seek here to detect the normative levers which shape everyone's bodies to enable us to find an alternative allowing us to bring back a relationship to the singular body through choreographic practice.

GYMNASE asks the following question: In light of the deconstruction of gender, and the questioning of patriarchal patterns, what is revealed in a gymnasium?

In this context of creation, omnisport offers a space conducive to surpassing, transforming and shaking up this unique and standardized corporeality via sport and allowing the artists summoned to propose new practices, new codes and new utopias.

Tiger Balm

Tiger Balm

Creation 2015 - 2017

This choreographic and visual project summons three performers into a charcoal environment reconditioning our perceptions. Bodies, materials, sounds, texts, their voices, the lighting system allow the advent of a strangeness, an exploration of plastic and physical phenomena questioning our relationships with environments, with our physical metamorphoses.
This piece establishes the links that an individual can weave with a material. It leads to the limits that the dancer can reach. His technique is confronted with the material coal.
In choreographic writing, letting go is made visible through the cyclical dance motifs: the fall, the momentum, the imbalance...

Performances:

- April 2017, La Raffinerie, Charleroi dances.

- June 2016, La Balsamine theater, isac festival.

- January 2015, Grand Cordel - Rennes, Our wild years.

avec les soutiens: Charleroi danse, La Bellone, Nos Années Sauvages, ISAC, Le Grand Cordel.
